An Unfinished Life (2005)
Director: Lasse Hallström
Movie review
From Time Out New York
An outsider (Lopez) seeks refuge in a remote, beautiful place (Wyoming). A granite-tough man of the land (Redford) softens up. Call it "the Sundance effect," in which sentimental family drama blossoms amid a scenic, pastoral American landscape, with all its connotations of unspoiled purity and rejuvenation. What else would you expect from the pairing of Swedish director Lasse Hallström (The Cider House Rules) with the grand old man of Sundance himself? Redford clearly enjoys his role and Freeman is genial and gentlemanly as ever, indefatigably playing the sage helpmate to white people in distress.Author: DS
