The Bothersome Man (2006)
Director: Jens Lien
Movie review
From Time Out New York
Forty-year-old Andreas (Aurvaag) arrives in a strange city where the food is tasteless and the alcohol won’t get him drunk—and the locals seem to like it just fine that way. Unhappy with an antiseptic existence in the company of compliant, passionless drones, our man without a past is soon driven to attempt suicide—but as it turns out, escaping the town isn’t so easy. This absurdist black comedy from Norway is unlike any other movie you’ll see this year, but as allegory, it’s a bit too literal-minded.Author: Joshua Land
