Synopsis

Michael Myers is at it again—not in a sequel but in a remake of John Carpenter's 1978 original. Rob Zombie, a cut above the hacks who did Halloweens II through VIII, is directing.

Movie review

From Time Out Chicago

Ugly, inept, gruelingly long, cinematically illiterate and deadly dull, this pointless remake of John Carpenter’s much-imitated 1978 slasher makes the original look like Alfred frickin’ Hitchcock in his finest hour. Basic story remains the same, but this time it’s full of lame profanity and B-grade gore. We’re not surprised to see McDowell (replacing Donald Pleasance as the shrink) in a five-coil steamer like this, but can Dourif (as the sheriff) really be so hard up for work post-Deadwood?
