Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa (2008)
Director: Eric Darnell, Tom McGrath
Movie review
From Time Out Chicago
This sequel picks up where its 2005 predecessor left off: The four main mammals head back to Manhattan, only to wind up somewhere on continental Africa. Evil penguins, posh British chimps and an übercamp despot (Baron Cohen) all hijack the limelight as deftly as they did in the original. You can’t fault DreamWorks for including what Disney’s animated tales conspicuously leave out—gags pitched at adults. Plus, the CGI has improved since the first film, with animal fur being ruffled in all the right places.Author: Anna King
