Movie review

From Time Out Chicago

A mother’s best intentions don’t guarantee that her child will turn out well. “There are always outside influences,” as Alice (Woodard) says, and as her best friend, Charlotte (Bates), agrees. Alice’s bickering daughters and Charlotte’s power-hungry son lead the matriarchs to seek solace and personal fulfillment on a road trip away from their respective family drama. As with Perry’s other films, his Christian moralistic storytelling can be slightly off-putting—but the solid acting and genuinely entertaining story are sure to satisfy fans and maybe even bring in some converts.
