The Haunting in Connecticut (2009)
Director: Peter Cornwell
Movie review
From Time Out Chicago
In this “based on the true story” ghost story, things go bump in the night…and the day…and at twilight…and at dawn. A couple (Madsen, Donovan) rent a house to be closer to the hospital where teen son Matt (Gallner) is undergoing cancer treatment. Matt starts seeing things in the creepy old house, which, oh by the way, used to be a funeral home run by a guy with a sideline in séances. Uh-oh. Cornwell delivers shock-cut scares with metronomic regularity every few minutes, which gradually diminishes their impact until all you can do is sit numbly, waiting for the next pummeling.Author: Hank Sartin
