Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian (2009)
Director: Shawn Levy
Movie review
From Time Out Chicago
Noisy and poorly plotted, this unnecessary follow-up has former security guard Stiller running around Washington D.C.’s Smithsonian to save his pals, the magically living exhibits from a museum. Educational tidbits are thrown out at regular intervals (Amelia Earhart was the first woman to cross the Atlantic, a fact reiterated three times, as if it will appear on a post-film quiz), no doubt to make parents feel like their kids are “learning something.” What the tykes are likely to learn is how to write a sloppy script. Azaria is the only one really having fun, doing a droll Boris Karloff imitation as an evil Egyptian pharaoh.Author: Hank Sartin
