Game (2011)
Director: Abhinay Deo
Movie review
From Time Out London
Four Indian strangers are invited to a private Greek island by a reclusive billionaire (Anupam Kher) to play a dangerous game (hence the title), and to no-one’s surprise but their own, a killer is on the loose…High on style, but sorely lacking substance, this Bollywood whodunit represents everything that's reprehensible about commercial Hindi cinema. An interesting premise is let down by a script which deploys sequences in ‘exotic’ locations like London, Istanbul, Greece and Bangkok to sustain interest. The result is a puzzling mess. The only interesting aspect of this slick and superficial film is Bollywod’s continued ability to waste rupees on expensive foreign location shooting instead of hiring a half-decent scriptwriter or sending its beautiful leads to acting school. A loser.Author: Anil Sinanan
