Synopsis

This oft-adapted samurai story gets the Hollywood treatment with Keanu Reeves as outcast Kai, who joins a group of samurai lead by Oishi (Hiroyuki Sanada). This version is a fantastical take on the tale, set ‘in a world of witches and giants’ promising a mix of gritty action and ‘The Lord of the Rings’-style landscapes. While an English language production, many of the cast are Japanese and Reeves’s character is said to be half-Japanese and half-British. Those ‘Matrix’ moves could come in handy.
