Avary to direct 'Castle Wolfenstein'

Roger Avary will bring videogame 'Return to Castle Wolfenstein' to the big screen

The hugely successful videogame 'Return to Castle Wolfenstein' is set to get the film treatment, with Roger Avary charged with the task of directing the WWII-set feature.

Avary, who previously penned 'Pulp Fiction' and 'The Rules of Attraction', will also write the script, which follows Army Ranger BJ Blazkowicz and a crack team of commanders into the titular castle. Once there, they discover that the Nazis have been conducting paranormal experiments, and the result is that all hell soon breaks loose.

‘I’ve been playing the character of BJ Blazkowicz since the epic 'Wolfenstein 3D' first bruised me brain and have ever since wanted to bring his adventures to life on the big screen’ says a clearly elated Avery. ‘It’s time to bust some dams, storm some bunkers and blow up some bridges!’
