'Dangerous Book' becomes film
The hugely succesful 'Dangerous Book for Boys' is set to hit the big screen
Following a titanic bidding war, publishing phenomenon 'The Dangerous Book for Boys' is set to get the big screen treatment courtesy of Disney and über-producer Scott Rudin.Written by brothers Conn and Hal Iggulden, the book is a non-fiction compendium of information vital to men of all ages, from a guide to building and racing your own go-cart to tips on how to win at conkers. It also provides useful trivia, historical anecdotes and information and advice that harks back to a more innocent time before hoodies, happy-slappers, ASBOS and the like.
The book has ruled the roost at the top of the UK’s bestseller list since its publication last year, and a slightly tweaked US version has had similar success since hitting shelves in May.
It’s not yet clear how the tome will translate to film, although Variety claims it is likely to be ‘a yarn revolving around the struggle fathers face in raising their sons and balancing a natural instinct to shelter them from harm with their sons' natural desire for adventure and even a bit of danger.’
