Hartnett enters 'End Zone'
Josh Hartnett is set to star in a film version of Don DeLillo's acclaimed book
Josh Hartnett has signed up to star in a film adaptation of 'End Zone', Don DeLillo’s biting satire that couples the conflict and confrontation of American football with the threat of nuclear war.Hartnett will star as a football player at a West Texas college whose increasing obsession with nuclear attack affects his performances on the pitch and his life off it.
George Ratliff, who recently released psychological horror 'Joshua' in the States, will adapt (with David Gilbert) and direct the feature, and he told Variety that following much back and forth, DeLillo eventually gave the project his blessing. ‘I had to nag him for two years even to be given a chance to write a draft on spec, but he liked what we are doing with the adaptation. He has been nothing but gracious.'
'End Zone' is set to shoot in Texas in January, and we’ll have more news on the project as and when it breaks.
