Jon Polito was great, but I thought J.E. Freeman's performance as Eddie "The Dane" Dane really stole scenes in Miller's Crossing. Posted on Nov 28 2007 17:43

Louis XIV, as played by Jean-Marie Patte, in Rossellini's The Rise of Louis XIV. Regal and historic but there's nothing more gangsterish than the taking of power in such a cunning and manipulative fashion. The character is a lump but the description of his tactics is great.
