Star in a film opposite Jude Law

The Tate Modern has commissioned a short film called Real Time Movie which will be re-enacted live in Borough Market on November 30 with all of its original cast members, including a certain Jude Law

Those thinking of heading to the cinema to catch the new Wes Anderson film, ‘The Darjeeling Limited’ in the upcoming week may want to make sure they get to the cinema a little bit early.

Not only is the film to be preceded by Anderson’s excellent short film ‘Hotel Chevalier’, but a trailer for a fictional movie entitled ‘Real Time Movie’ in which Jude Law , like an earthly sage, strolls into Borough Market, buys some fish, then lets the morning sun cast shadows with those enviable cheekbones.

It’s a piece of work which has been produced in conjunction with a new exhibition at the Tate Modern called ‘The World as a Stage', which investigates ideas of theatre, staging and performance.

The idea behind the project is that the film you see on the screens is actually going to be re-enacted – with a real life Jude Law – in Borough Market on Friday 30 November at 11.30am. The piece (available to see on Youtube) has been directed by award-winning shorts helmer Jason Martin on behalf of the Polish artist, Pavel Althamer. This is the third Real Time Movie to have been commissioned, with the previous one occurring in 2004 in Pittsburgh and starring Peter Fonda.
