David Lynch on video phones

David Lynch offers some hilariously succinct views on those who choose to watch films on their phones

Hop on any tube or bus in London and you’re certain to see at least one person fiddling with their phone. A while back, it’d probably be to shuffle through their music library or fire off a few emails. Now people are watching films.

Though this would generally be the preamble to some great diatribe on how we here in the Time Out Film section vehemently champion the idea that films should – wherever possible – be seen on the biggest screen available (with cinema still easily trumping the ubiquitous plasma screen), we will on this occasion allow David Lynch to echo our sentiments in a way that only that beautiful, surreal bastard knows how.

And while we're on the topic, click here to see another corking clip with DL offering his two cents on product placement in film (look out for the little 'next question' glance right at the end).
