Shane Meadows' secret London project

Shane Meadows expands a London-set short into 70-minute feature to be called 'Somers Town'

Midlands filmmaker Shane Meadows has overcome his avowed phobia of the metropolis and secretly shot a new 70-minute feature in London that was intended only to be a half-hour short. Meadows is rushing to finish the edit of 'Somers Town' – a story of immigration to the city which features 'This is England' star Thomas Turgoose – in time for the Berlin Film Festival next month.

'It has been a great experience for me as a lot of the film is in Polish and it gave me my first taste of directing actors who speak in a language that me not understandy,' Meadows tells fans on his website.
