Swank takes to the skies

Hilary Swank is set to star in biopic of missing aviator, Amelia Earhart

Hilary Swank is hoping to shake off a double dose of the Oscar curse by portraying still-missing aviation legend Amelia Earhart in a new film from 'Monsoon Wedding' director Mira Nair.

The film is intended to focus not on Earhart's mysterious disappearance but on her tempestuous marriage to publisher George Putnam, played by famed Tibet-botherer Richard Gere, who has time on his hands now he's noisily boycotting the Olympics.
