Outdoor film screenings in London 2009
Our guide to the best places to see films outside in London this summer. Derek Adams previews a line-up that will include ‘The Third Man’ and live opera, as well as a special appearance from Spanish master Pedro Almodóvar
We're reaching the end of the outdoor screenings season, and the pickings are getting slim. There's still a lot to see on the Scoop London screen, but otherwise it's back to watching movies the old fashioned way: indoors. The Scoop at More London
Sept 16-Oct 2
London’s busiest outdoor screenings take place every September next to City Hall. What’s more, they’re free. Autumnal screenings benefit from earlier starts, making it more practical for workers to stop by for a quick flick on the way home. The downside is that you may need to wrap up. This year’s eclectic, crowd-pleasing schedule opens with Danny Boyle’s optimistic comedy-drama ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, followed by Sergio Leone’s ‘For a Few Dollars More’, ‘Mamma Mia!’, ‘The Usual Suspects’ and the Coens’ curveball , ‘O Brother, Where Art Thou??’.
