Review a Coens' movie and win!

A signed copy of the script for 'A Serious Man' is up for grabs, and we want you to look to your inner film reviewer to win it

Ethan and Joel Coen (‘Fargo’, ‘The Big Lebowski’, ‘No Country For Old Men’) have come up with yet another comic peach with their new film, ‘A Serious Man’, which opens in UK cinemas on November 20th. It sees eternally put-upon mathematics scholar and father-of-two, Larry Gopnik (Michael Stuhlbarg), forced to investigate the outer limits of his waning spiritual devotion in order to explain a seemingly endless run of bad luck. Raising big questions about the nature of faith, reason and responsibility, ‘A Serious Man’ is vintage Coen brothers, an elaborate human comedy of real depth and charm.

And, you could win a signed copy of the sparkling script! All you need to do is tweet us a review of your favourite Coens' movie, and our esteemed team of critics will select the most interesting one. For example:

-Miller’s Crossing: Brilliantly tortuous noir pastiche with Gabriel Byrne in arguably his greatest role. Note: “Always put one in the brain”.

-Blood Simple: The Coens burst onto the scene with merciless tale of double, triple and quadruple crossing wives, lovers and private dicks.

-O Brother...: Tommy guns, toe-tappin’ tunes and tall Tennessee tales enliven this playful and persuasive reframing of Homer’s Odyssey.

Of course, to save characters you can shorten the film titles (eg Miller's Crossing = MC, No Country For Old Men=NCFOM)

So to follow us on Twitter, head to www.twitter.com/timeoutfilm, then get reviewing.

The deadline is November 20th, the day the film is released in the UK.

Kermode is a fool, Big Lebowski's Jesus bowling scene alone makes it one of the greatest films of the 90s. All hail The Dude Posted on Nov 19 2009 14:10
