This latest from ex-Guy Ritchie affiliate Mathew Vaughn looks like a deliciously crude riff on ‘Watchmen’, as Brit up-and-comer Aaron Johnston plays a gawky teen who dons some green Spandex and chooses to fight crime without actually having any super powers.

Robin Hood (Dir Ridley Scott)

The trailer makes it look like a piece of Hollywood historical revisionism on a par with its Costner-starring forebear ‘Prince of Thieves’, but Ridley Scott re-teaming with his muscular muse Russell Crowe makes this one of 2010’s mega-budget must-sees.

His first since ‘Happy-Go-Lucky’, Leigh reunites with Phil Davis, Jim Broadbent, Imelda Staunton and others for a film partly shot in Derby. As ever, the story is a secret.

Cemetery Junction (Dirs Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant)

If nothing else, ‘The Invention of Lying’ and ‘Ghost Town’ proved that Ricky Gervais could indeed hold his own in Hollywood, but this latest offering – co-written and directed with Stephen Merchant – sees him trying his hand at a homegrown Brit coming-of-age comedy.
