Bogdanovich will crack 'The Broken Code'
Peter Bogdanovich is to tell the story of scientist Rosalind Franklin, who changed the way we look at DNA.
Apr 20 2006
Peter Bogdanovich is returning to the director's chair to shoot 'The Broken Code', a biopic about research scientist Rosalind Franklin.
Bogdanovich, who directed 'The Last Picture Show', 'Targets' and 'Paper Moon', hasn't made a film since 2002's 'The Cat's Meow', but Franklin's intriguing and unsung story will tempt him back behind a camera later this year.
Franklin created pioneering X-ray photographs that were inspirational in the discovery of DNA's double-helix structure. Which was a good thing apparently.
David Baxter has written the screenplay, which is based on Anne Sayre's book 'Rosalind Franklin and DNA'.
The film is being backed by The UK Film Council and The Tribeca Film Institute, and Tribeca president Sydney Meeks had this to say on the subject: 'Given the public's fascination with DNA in crime solving, there couldn't be a better time to tell Franklin's story, especially with a talent like Peter Bogdanovich at the helm.'

"Franklin's intriguing and unsung story" COMMENT:
'Intriguing' maybe a bit, but 'unsung' not really! The story is already well and truly in the public domain! See:
