May 4 2006
'Goodbye Bafana', an intriguing new film that somehow slipped under The TOMB's radar, recently started shooting in South Africa.
An account of the 20-year friendship that blossomed between prison guard James Gregory and Nelson Mandela during his time in incarceration, the film is based on Gregory's own memoirs, 'Goodbye Bafana: Nelson Mandela, My Prisoner, My Friend'.
Billie August is directing the flick, which stars Dennis Haysbert (TV's '24') as Mandela and Joseph Fiennes as Gregory.
An important story that will no doubt stir up controversy on its release, rest assured we'll bring you more news on this one as and when it breaks.
