'Evan Almighty' appears online

The first pic of Steve Carell from the 'Bruce Almighty' sequel has hit the net.

May 10 2006

Santa Claus? Gandalf? Hulk Hogan after a particularly rough night? No – in fact the bloke on the right is '40 Year-Old Virgin' Steve Carell in his 'Evan Almighty' guise.

USA Today have snagged the first pic from the set of the high-concept sequel to the Jim Carrey hit 'Bruce Almighty', and it features Carell in full Noah garb in preparation for the big flood.

In the forthcoming flick, Carell reprises the role of Evan Baxter, the nasty news anchor who has somehow worked his way up the greasy political pole to become a congressman this time around.

Early in the film, God appears before Baxter and orders him to build an ark in preparation for a great flood, a demand that triggers hair growth of biblical proportions as Evan starts work on the boat.

The film is due to hit screens in June 2007. To read the full story, click here.
