'Anguish' over horror remake
'When a Stranger Calls' scribe Jake Wade Wall will re-write the Spanish chiller 'Anguistia'.
May 10 2006
Yet another horror remake is on the way to our screens in the shape of 'Anguish'.
The forthcoming feature will be based on the 1987 Spanish chiller 'Anguistia' that revolves around a maniac killing moviegoers in a cinema and employs a clever 'horror film within a horror film' conceit.
Our resident horror expert Nigel Floyd was a fan of the original, calling it 'intricately constructed' and 'strikingly original' (click here for the full review).
However, with Jake Wade Wall, who penned the uninspired 'When a Stranger Calls' remake, working on the script, there's a good chance that this could be yet another pointless retread of a perfectly good original.
Whatever the case, we'll bring you more news on this one as and when it breaks.
