It's 'Halloween' for Zombie
'The Devil's Rejects' helmer Rob Zombie will oversee the further adventures of Michael Myers.
Jun 5 2006
Horror helmer Rob Zombie is set to take the reins of one of the genre's most enduring franchises when he directs a new 'Halloween' feature.
Zombie, whose previous gore-fests include 'The Devil's Rejects' and 'House of 1000 Corpses', will write, direct and co-produce the flick for Dimension Films, and it should be ready in time for Halloween 2007.
'I have been a huge, huge fan of John Carpenter's original film since its release' Zombie said. 'So when Bob Weinstein approached me about this, I jumped at the chance to join forces with Dimension Films on this amazing project.'
Personally, while I had serious problems with 'The Devil's Rejects', it was pretty obvious that Zombie had learned a lot from his helming experience on 'House', and at times it scared the bejesus out of me, so I think it's safe to say that the franchise is in safe hands.
