Like a goth to a flame

The TOMB freaks out at a disturbing presentation of 'Nosferatu'.

The TOMB attended a very special screening of 'Nosferatu' at the SE One Club on Thursday, and it was a quite spectacular night of gothic delights.

In the underground caverns below London Bridge railway arches, Future Cinema staged live music and screened short films while a variety of weird and wonderful performance artistes stalked the tunnels striking fear into the hearts of inebriated punters.

Unquestionably however, the centrepiece of the night was a presentation of FW Murnau's expressionist masterpiece 'Nosferatu', which featured an impressive (and at times deafening) new re-score by Darryn Harkness.

It was a weird and wonderful night that enhanced Future Cinema's reputation as organisers of fantastic film events, and my only criticism would be the extortionate price of the cloakroom and the bar (£4 for a can of Stella had me wishing I was drinking blood with the rest of the living dead).

But aside from that minor quibble the night was an unadulterated success that bodes well for further Future events later in the year (click here for more details).
