Heads will roll!

Natalie Portman is set to play Anne Boleyn in a new historical drama.

Jun 20 2006

Natalie Portman is in negotiations to play Anne Boleyn in the forthcoming historical drama 'The Other Boleyn Girl'.

Based on Philippa Gregory's novel (which itself was turned into a BBC TV movie in 2003) the film tells the tale of the competitive Boleyn sisters Anne and Mary, both of whom were rivals for the affections of King Henry VIII.

And in a surprise piece of casting news, svelte Australian actor Eric Bana ('Hulk', 'Munich') will apparently play the larger than life monarch.

Justin Chadwick, who helmed last year's hugely successful mini-series 'Bleak House', has signed up to direct, with production set to start in London in September.
