'Rocky Balboa' gets back in the ring
The trailer for the sixth Rocky flick has arrived online.
Jul 11 2006
As a child of the '80s, I'm not ashamed to say that I love the 'Rocky' films. The first flick had me shedding bucket loads of man tears as the big fella' lasted 12 rounds with Apollo, and I awaited each ensuing sequel like a punch-drunk fighter awaiting that final bell.
Until, that is, the appalling 'Rocky V' hit screens in 1990, effectively destroying the franchise for good. Or so we thought, because Rocky Balboa is back this Christmas, in the creatively monikered 'Rocky Balboa', and the first full-length trailer for the flick has arrived online.
Featuring an old, grizzled Italian Stallion coming out of retirement to fight just one last time for the title (again), it looks like a re-tread of the previous flicks, but when it comes to Rocky pics, that's all anyone really wants anyway.
With Stallone nearing 60 however, who can he possibly take on in the ring? Someone slow, soft and unlikely to put up much of a fight like, say, Audley Harrison? Apparently not. Instead the geriatric will fight Mason 'The Line' Dixie, a tough, cocky young upstart who takes one look at Balboa and says 'It's over'!
Could this be the end for our muscular friend? I wouldn't bet on it, but to see for yourself, head to our Top Ten Trailers page and click on the link.

I can't wait. The film looks like it has humour and vulnerability, like all the Rocky films (except, of course for the ridculous Rocky 4).
These films are about the journey of one man and as such, we should be happy he is still punching!
I say, Go For It!! Posted on Jul 11 2006 15:45 - Report as inappropriate
