FrightFest line-up announced

Alan Jones and co have lined up a weekend of horror gems for The Zone Horror FrightFest 2006.

The line-up for this year's The Zone Horror FrightFest has been announced, and with previews of over 20 horror films from all over the world, it promises to be bigger and better than ever.

Running from 25-28 August at the Odeon West End, the highlight will undoubtedly be an opening night screening of one of the most eagerly anticipated films of the year, 'Pan's Labyrinth', followed by a Q&A with the writer-director himself, Guillermo Del Toro.

Elsewhere, there will be further Q&As, signings, competitions and a short film strand, while fans of more vintage horror won't want to miss the Hammer Horror triple bill, which features newly struck prints of 'The Hound of the Baskervilles', 'Countess Dracula' and 'Twins of Evil'.

If, like me, you're a slave to the stalk and slash genre, bloody mayhem will abound with screenings of 'See No Evil', 'Broken' and the critically acclaimed 'Hatchet'.

And British horror also has a strong presence in the shape of 'Puritan', 'The Living and the Dead' and a special early sneak peak at Christopher Smith's hugely enjoyable 'Severance', with director and cast in attendance.

'It's the strongest line-up we've ever had' organiser Alan Jones exclusively told The TOMB. 'There isn't a dud in there, which will be a problem for people with the weekend passes as they normally take a bad film off for a break, but I don't think they'll be able to this time around!'
