After Kevin Costner's marriage to Christine Baumgarten, 30, on Saturday at his Colorado mountain ranch, he took his new bride for a romantic canoe ride on a lake. But, with the long-lenses firmly focused on the couple’s every move, it proved impossible for them to join the ‘mile out’ club by consummating their union on the open water. Oh come on, why else would he canoe her into the middle of a lake?
Among the 300 hundred wedding guests to attend the four-day-long celebrations were director Oliver Stone, Oprah Winfrey and Bruce Willis.
The couple intend to Honeymoon in Scotland – maybe they’ll get enough privacy there to make another canoe trip – wink wink, nudge nudge.
In addition to Waterworld Costner has stared in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, and The Untouchables, and most recent Open Range. He also won the ‘Best Director’ Oscar for Dances With Wolves in 1991.
