Romero stranded on 'Solitary Island'
'Night of the Living Dead' helmer George A Romero is to make a 'Lost'-style horror thriller.
Aug 7 2006
Godfather of gore George A Romero is returning to the director's chair to oversee dark thriller 'Solitary Isle'.
Based on a short story by Koji Suzuki ('The Ring', 'Dark Water'), the film will chronicle an expedition to a deserted island that turns deadly as the explorers face an unknown force.
And if that sounds similar to the plot of TV smash 'Lost', have no fear – in the hands of the horror maestro who created 'Night of the Living Dead', 'Dawn of the Dead', 'Day of the Dead' and 'Land of the Dead', this is one fantasy island that won’t be for the faint-hearted.
It also marks the first project in a joint venture between Hyde Park Entertainment and Kadakowa Pictures to make and distribute horror thrillers for under $25 million.
