TOMB goes trekking
Time Out dines with 'Star Trek' legend Brent 'Data' Spiner.
Sep 8 2006
Apologies for the delayed TOMB post today but your intrepid online editor is a little confused having drunk with an android last night. Not just any old android mind, but Data, the legendary 'Star Trek: The Next Generation' android.
The reason for this strange and unexpected meeting of minds? None other than the 40th Anniversary of 'Star Trek'. Yes, the most successful series in sci-fi history is 40 years old today, and Data (aka actor Brent Spiner) was in town to celebrate!
A group of competition winners, the country's finest online film journalists and various industry types dined with Brent at the Savoy while he discussed the many ways in which 'Star Trek' has changed his life.
And being the ruthlessly efficient automaton that he is, he made me promise to plug the Q and Klingon DVD boxsets that have been released to coincide with the anniversary. So go out and buy 'Star Trek: Q Fan Collective' (available from September 4) and 'Star Trek: Klingon Fan Collective' (out November 6) or I'll have a pasty-faced robot busting my balls.

- to that bozo on that other page "data purged,"(you know the one I repeat:BRENT SPINER DOESN'T OWN A VINEYARD.HE HASN'T SAID ANYTHING ABOUT WINEMAKING TO ANYONE IN HIS ENTIRE LIFE.and i know because i'm researching his bio.they took that bozo's comment off that page because it wasn't relevent to the topic.still it amazes me how some people will tell blatent lies about celebs on the internet.dont believe anything about a celebrity until the person can (and will) proove what they say beyond a reasonable doubt. and to proove what i said about brent spiner living at 41 west 89th st. between 76 and 86 i'll quote my source:joseph ditta at the new york historical society who did a look up for me.he checked the old phone books they keep there for new york city and he found that brent spiner lists each year at 41 west 89th street between '76 and '86.he would list back then under the name"brent mintz."(also, there was no corresponding listing for swoosie kurtz or "s kurtz."
