Brilliant Bond trailer released

See Daniel Craig being brutal as Bond in the new 'Casino Royale' trailer.

Sep  8 2006

A bigger, better Bond trailer has appeared online, increasing our interest in the film tenfold.

The latest spot for 'Casino Royale' features more action, more explosions, more stunts (including the spectacular crash that Time Out witnessed on set a while back) and more of Daniel Craig's killer stare.

It also features new Bond girl Eva Green looking suitably sexy as Vesper Lynd, though to be honest we could have done without her awkward 'perfectly formed arse' wisecrack.

Aside from that however, the film appears to be shaping up nicely for its November 17 release. To see the 'Casino Royale' trailer head to our top ten page and click on the link.

Forget the ponsey pratts that have played Bond previously. Craig is closer to the real deal than all bar Connery. I would rather see Bond movies become more gritty, less explosions and more ruthless. Maybe we should have a Bond for all the posers out there and a seperate Bond for those who want the real Secret Service assasin/spy. Posted on Jan 23 2007 08:16

I'm a big Bond fan and I understand people's reservations about DC not being a wonderful Bond. To them I say, 'Wait till you've seen the film and then make your judgement'.
To those who think DC isn't good looking enough, they obviously know nothing about Ian Flemings novels and the MAN that James Bond is meant to be. Stuff the pointless good looks other Bonds in the past have had- he's meant to be a real man and that is it. Who said he was meant to be prophetically handsome anyway? Won't his charm make him better looking in the eyes of his critics? I hope so and am predicting that this Bond film will be a phenomenal success. Posted on Nov 13 2006 20:44

Maybe Craig will be a new kind of gritty Bond and give the franchise a fresh, subversive future. It could be a fantastic change of direction. Whatever happens, we need to wait for the film. To slate anyone based on a trailer is just plain prejudice. It certainly isn't cricket, Mr. Bond. Posted on Oct 07 2006 19:54

Daniel Craig was great in Enduring Love, where he played a bohemian professor. But he's not suited to playing Bond, he just doesn't have the look! Posted on Sep 19 2006 21:07

Craig is hideous casting. Don't be fooled by this trailer. Sure, it's well put together and I'm sure the stunts are fantastic (they tend to be in Bond films) but look at Craig and his delivery. He's leaden, completely uncharismatic, not to mention he looks nothing like Bond. And Bond was meant to be 28 in this new version of Casino Royale. Does Craig look 28? More like 48 or older sometimes. Don't be taken for fools, folks. Craig is miscast and Eon and Sony just want to sucker you with a cool trailer. Craig is miscast PERIOD and don't support him or this film. Real true Bond fans have disowned Craig and Casino Royale. Real fans know we've been sold a lousy Bond actor - only the weak of mind accept him. Please don't be weak. Posted on Sep 12 2006 02:03

I really think this film should be an 18 certificate. It looks brutal and small children are liable to be frightened by Craig's mug on a cinema screen. Ugh! Posted on Sep 11 2006 23:11

He Look's like Wilfred Brambell ( Dirty Old Man Steptoe) I was waiting for the perfectly formed arse line to be followed by shame about the face. If they wanted a blonde Bond, They should of hired Leslie Phillips for Dr No in the sixties Posted on Sep 11 2006 19:00

Why or why did they have to choose such a bizarre looking man to be 007? He looks like a bricklayer. James Bond is supposed to be dashing. The Bond of the books is described as handsome. I thought Craig got the tone and pitch of a few lines off-kilter in that trailer and yet everyone acts as if he's a great actor! Posted on Sep 10 2006 16:42

Casting Daniel Craig is a major marketing error. One of if not the biggest selling point of James Bond was his look. His superior looks is a distinctive trademark of the James Bond franchise. I have seen the trailers and Mr.Craig simply just does not have the look. This should be his only film if the James Bond franchise expects to continue to sell well. Posted on Sep 10 2006 02:41

On the evidence of this trailer Craig has all the charisma of a bag of cement. I have no idea what this bland, tedious actor is doing in this film. 000. Posted on Sep 10 2006 00:04

Why do the filmmakers always use the evocative Bond theme in the trailers then all but ignore it in the actual film? John Barry knew that it was the theme, pulsating the background, that distinguished the Bond film from all the other "let's blow something up" actioners. Posted on Sep 09 2006 20:45

Ok trailer but shame it didn't have James Bond in it. I have to agree with the other comments that Craig is shaping up to be an incredibly boring Bond. Should have got Gerard Butler or someone instead. Posted on Sep 09 2006 20:15
