Cruise likes 'Lions for Lambs'

Tom Cruise is attached to three new film projects, including a political drama about the war in Afghanistan.

Oct 24 2006

Having taken a break from filmmaking following the birth of his child and his acrimonious split from Paramount, Tom Cruise is now circling three potential projects.

The 'M:I3' star has been in talks with Spike Lee about 'Selling Time', a drama about a bloke who sells back chunks of time in his life for a chance to relive his worst day (which no doubt involved jumping up and down on a talk show couch).

He is also considering 'The Ha-Ha', the ludicrous sounding story of a mute Gulf War veteran who is charged with the care of a 9-year-old child.

But Variety reports that Cruise is currently most keen on 'Lions for Lambs' a political drama about a battalion of US soldiers in Afghanistan. Cruise would play a congressman while Robert Redford is in talks to direct as well as co-star. More news on these projects as and when Mr Katie Holmes makes a final decision.
