Ferrell goes 'Semi-Pro'

'Talladega Nights' star Will Ferrell is soon to start work on another sporting comedy.

Oct 27 2006

Will Ferrell is set to star in a new film about basketball called 'Semi-Pro', and it promises to be the greatest film about the sport since…'Teen Wolf'.

Ferrell plays Jackie Moon, the owner-coach of fictional team the Flint Michigan Tropics, who bounce their balls in the now defunct American Basketball Association.

Looking into a crystal (basket)ball, it's not impossible to predict that a 'Dodgeball'-esque plot will ensue, with the team sure be made up of 'loveable' losers and wacky eccentrics who have to battle against the odds to make it to the big league.

Woody Harrelson will co-star, while Kent Alterman will make his directorial debut with the film, having previously worked with Ferrell on the fantastic 'Elf'.
