Dylan attacks 'Factory Girl'

The singer songwriter is concerned that the film falsely portrays him.

Bob Dylan is seeking to stop the release of Sienna Miller's new film 'Factory Girl' for fear that the film defames him.

Dylan's lawyers have sent the makers of the movie, which charts the rise and fall of Andy Warhol protégée Edie Sedgwick, a court injunction to block the release of the film until they have a chance to see it.

According to New York Post gossip site Page Six, Dylan is worried the film falsely suggests that he was responsible for Sedgwick's suicide in 1971.

A character called Danny Quinn is apparently a composite of the folk superstar, Jim Morrison and Mick Jagger, but early word suggests that Hayden Christensen's performance is unmistakably Dylan (and one look at the trailer on the film's official website would seem to corroborate that).

'Factory Girl' is due to be released in America on December 27, though Dylan's team have demanded that all screenings and distribution cease until they see it for themselves. Producer Bob Yari and screenwriter Aaron Richard Golub have yet to respond.
