Farrell and Gleeson 'In Bruges'
Colin and Brendan will star in Martin McDonagh's feature film debut.
Jan 10 2007
Martin McDonagh is one of the finest playwrights at work today, and I still get goose-bumps when I think about his brilliant 2003 work 'The Pillowman'. His shocking, heartbreaking short 'Six Shooter' won an Academy Award last year, so The TOMB is thrilled to hear that his first full-length feature has finally been given the greenlight by Focus Features.
McDonagh will write and direct 'In Bruges', a darkly comic tale of two hitmen who hide in the Belgian city when they accidentally kill someone while working on a job in London.
Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson will play the killers, with Ralph Fiennes and Clemence Posey filling out the cast.
Speaking about the pic, Focus CEO James Schamus said 'Martin has written a screenplay that is both killingly funny and dramatically affecting, and this fine troupe of actors will interact marvellously under his direction'.
'In Bruges' will shoot in Belgium next month, and rest assured The TOMB will be following production closely.
