Greengrass plans Iraq flick

The 'United 93' helmer will adapt 'Imperial Life in the Emerald City'.

Jan 22 2007

No stranger to controversy following the critically acclaimed 'Bloody Sunday' and 'United 93', Paul Greengrass is again set to hit the headlines with a big screen adaptation of political tome 'Imperial Life in the Emerald City'.

Based on Rajif Chandrasekaran's experiences as The Washington Post's bureau chief in Baghdad, the film will revolve around the American government's doomed attempts to set up a provisional government near Saddam Hussein's palace.

Greengrass will work closely with 'United 93' researchers Kate Solomon and Michael Bronner on the script, with shooting set to start when the director wraps 'The Bourne Ultimatum'.
