'Vivaldi' role for Fiennes
Joseph Fiennes has been cast as the classical composer in a new biopic.
Jan 30 2007
Joseph Fiennes is to play Vivaldi in a film about the classical composer's life imaginatively titled 'Vivaldi'.
Jeffrey Freedman is currently writing the script, which will detail the 18th century composer's humble beginnings as a priest and his time as music teacher to the illegitimate daughters of Venetian courtesans.
''Vivaldi' is an emotionally engaging film that will captivate audiences in several fronts' producer Michael Shane said. 'It all stems from a terrific screenplay that attracted a brilliant cast'.
That cast includes Malcolm McDowell, Lena Headey, Jacqueline Bisset and Gerard Depardieu. 'Vivaldi' is set to shoot in Vienna and Venice this spring, and should hit screens within the next four seasons.
