Fergie produces 'The Young Victoria'
Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson will work with Martin Scorsese on a film about Queen Victoria.
Feb 9 2007
Jean-Marc Vallee is to collaborate with producers Martin Scorsese, Graham King and, bizarrely, Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson on 'The Young Victoria', a film about the early years of England's longest-serving Queen.
Vallee, who helmed the brilliant 'C.R.A.Z.Y', will direct from a script by Julian Fellowes, which will chronicle Victoria's rise to power, the turbulent early years of her reign and her love for Prince Albert.
Speaking of the project, King said: 'We all think we know Queen Victoria from the latter part of her life but the fact she was an amazing, dynamic, romantic personality from a very early age is largely unknown.'
He continued 'I had been searching for a British project for many years so am thrilled to bring her story to life. And to do so in partnership with Marty is a special job'.
