Chadha does 'Full-Frontal Snogging'

Gurinder Chadha is to direct a film version of teen novel 'Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Kissing'.

Feb 13 2007

Having made one of the best teenage films of the last decade in the shape of 'Bend it Like Beckham', Gurinder Chadha is targeting that same generation with new film 'Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging'.

The imaginatively monikered flick will be based on Lousie Rennison's novel, which took the form of a 16-year-old girl's diary about the difficulties of surviving life as a teen. So think Adrian Mole with lipstick and tampons.

Chadha is currently adapting the book with fellow 'Beckham' scribe Paul Mayeda Berges, with production set to start on April 15.

Wow. You guys are so lucky. I'm American, but I can do a British accent. No one would be able to tell if I went to England and pretended I lived there. Unfortunately, that would mean supplying a fake address. I wish I was from the UK. I wanted to audition for this so bad! All the good casting calls are for UK people. lol You never find good ones in the U.S. Oh well, good luck to you all. Posted on Jun 01 2007 21:44

do you rekon that these auditions will be like the harry potter ones? because for harry potter they only choose peoplethat have accents. its WELL annoying. and can people from dublin and stuff audition or so they want a surrey accent or something? Posted on Jun 01 2007 12:46

im sure youll be fine Kate!i dont think they should cast anyone who is under 14, because in the 1st book se IS 14, unless they can find someone who is really old looking for their age?

helwen, i'm putting you on my email thingy.
    mine is Danerrz@yahoo.com.
i hope you guys get to find each other if you're going to the auditions.
and i think it's really cool how you guys have different schools for certain interests. ours is just mixed up. it's probably a lot more fun because you chose a school that focused on what you wanted to do. i would probably be having a lot more fun if i went to a fine arts school. I figured they wouldn't be doing all the books in 1 movie because that would be too much, but YAY they're doing 3! Well, only yay if the 1st one is good...
J - did they say anything about being American? Posted on May 30 2007 23:45

I rang the casting agency because i wanted to know how serious they were going to be about the age thing (im older that 16 - and if anyone else is, still send your cv and headshot bcuz they said they'll still consider if u have the right look) and the lady (tamara notcutt - one of the casting agents) said that it will be a franchise. They will be doing 3 films. Posted on May 30 2007 23:31
