'The Young Victoria' is Blunt

'The Devil Wears Prada' star Emily Blunt will play Queen Victoria in Martin Scorsese's new film.

Mar 21 2007

Rising British star Emily Blunt has been cast as the teenage queen of England in Martin Scorsese's forthcoming 'The Young Victoria'.

As previously reported, the film will focus on Victoria's romance with Prince Albert and her rise to power at the tender age of 18.

Blunt, who made her mark in 'My Summer of Love', is best known for her performance as Meryl Streep's bitchy assistant in 'The Devil Wears Prada'.

Scorsese and producing partner Graham King will oversee the project, with Jean Marc Vallee directing from a screenplay by Julian Fellowes.
