'Titans' set to clash again
Lawrence Kasdan is to script a remake of 1981 cult classic 'Clash of the Titans'.
Apr 16 2007
It's been years since screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan has tackled the fantasy genre, but with a CV that includes 'The Empire Strikes Back', 'Return of the Jedi' and 'Raiders of the Lost Ark', it comes as no surprise to discover that Warner Bros have asked him to pen a new film version of 'Clash of the Titans'.
A remake of the 1981 flick famous for Ray Harryhausen's amazing stop motion effects, the story will again follow warrior Perseus's efforts to save the beautiful Princess Andromeda by completing a set of tasks set out by his father Zeus.
They include capturing winged horse Pegasus and slaying the Medusa, an evil snake-haired harpy whose appearance in the original gives me nightmares to this day.
No word on a director yet, but whoever gets the job will have their work cut out topping Harryhausen's remarkable work no matter how much they have to spend on CGI.
