Clive Owen gets 'International' call-up
The 'Children of Men' star will play an Interpol agent in Tow Tykwer's next film.
Apr 18 2007
Tom Tykwer made one of the most unusual, challenging and visually arresting films of last year with 'Perfume – The Story of a Murderer', but unfortunately, hardly anyone went to see it. Happily though, that hasn't held him back, as today he announced a follow-up project called 'The International'.
Scripted by Eric Singer, the film focuses on a dedicated Interpol agent who discovers worldwide arms brokering and murder at a high profile banking institution. The powers that be want the corruption covered up however, meaning that said agent must not only take on the criminals but also the very system he serves.
'Children of Men' star Clive Owen has been cast in the lead, action king John Woo will executive produce, and production is set to start in Europe this September.
