Sci-Fi-London starts today!
The sci-fi film festival heads back to the future tonight for a screening of cult classic 'Things to Come'.
May 2 2007
The sixth annual Sci-Fi-London film festival kicks off today with a special screening of 1936 cult classic 'Things to Come' presented by the one-and-only John Landis.
Featuring a powerful vision of an earth devastated by war, it was decades ahead of its time, and Landis will be presenting a brand new cut of the film with 22 minutes of never-before-seen footage screened in HD.
'Re-Animator' helmer Stuart Gordon will also be in town to introduce a screening of his new film 'Edmond', a thought-provoking drama written by David Mamet and starring William H Macy.
Other UK premieres include 'Run Robot Run', an amusing satire about man's relationship with machine, 'The Ferryman', a psychological horror about a haunted boat, and 'Plane Dead', about a flesh-eating disease breaking out at 30,000 feet.
There will also be debates, masterclasses and a dynamic shorts programme, while hardcore fans will want to attend the 'Mystery Science Theatre 3000' and Hammer all-nighters. And to close proceedings, the fantastic '28 Weeks Later' receives its first international public screening.
Sci-Fi-London runs from today to Sunday May 6 at the Apollo West End. For more information or to book tickets head to www.sci-fi-london.com.
