Stomp the 'Ronin'

'Stomp the Yard' helmer Sylvain White will direct a film version of the Frank Miller graphic novel 'Ronin'.

May  2 2007

Following the immense success of '300', Warner Bros are fast-tracking another Frank Miller graphic novel to the big screen in the shape of 'Ronin'.

Based on the series of Miller comics from the early 1980s, the story chronicles the adventures of a disgraced 13th century samurai warrior whose master is murdered by a shape-shifting demon. The ronin is then re-incarnated in a dystopian near-future New York where he has the opportunity to redeem himself by destroying said demon.

'Stomp the Yard' helmer Sylvain White has been charged with the task of directing the film, which will be made using the same blue and green screen techniques that so vividly brought '300' to life.

''Ronin' is one of Frank Miller's earliest and best graphic novel creations, one that has long been a cult graphic novel' White told Variety, adding that the 'classic good-evil struggle between the samurai and the demon' were what drew him to the project.
