Roth is an Abomination

Tim Roth will play movie villain Emil Blonsky, aka Abomination, in action sequel 'The Incredible Hulk'.

May 10 2007

With Edward Norton and Liv Tyler already onboard, Tim Roth is the latest big name to join the cast of Marvel Studios' forthcoming 'The Incredible Hulk'. And it looks like Roth will be doing what he does best, playing the villainous Abomination in the reinvention of the 'Hulk' franchise.

The 'Reservoir Dogs' star has been cast as Emil Blonsky, a Russian spy who deliberately exposes himself to the same gamma rays that turned Bruce Banner into the Hulk. Blonsky's huge dose turns him into Abomination – a larger, stronger, faster specimen than the Hulk, and unable to turn back into human form, he takes his rage out on both Banner and his green alter ego.

The king of comic book adaptations Zak Penn has written the script, which one hopes will be more 'X2' than 'Elektra', while 'Transporter' helmer Louis Leterrier has signed up to direct.
