The Terminator will be back
As well as a TV series, a new film trilogy set in the Terminator universe is in the works.
May 10 2007
The Terminator franchise changed hands this week, paving the way for the sci-fi franchise to continue with 'Terminator 4' in 2009.
Production company Halcyon bought the rights from previous owners Andy Vajna and Mario Kassar, with a view to creating future films, merchandising and licensing ventures.
And their first project will be 'Terminator 4', a reinvention of the franchise that revolves around a grown-up John Connor leading what's left of the human race into battle with the machines.
'Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines' writers John Brancato and Michael Ferris have already penned a script, which is being planned as the first part of a new Terminator trilogy.
'With 'T3', we included many incidental details and plot points that, along with the main narrative, set the stage for an entirely new set of interrelated stories covering the future adventures of John Connor and the Terminators' said producer Moriz Borman. 'This new Terminator trilogy will build on the already huge worldwide Terminator fanbase.'
And with spin-off TV show 'The Sarah Connor Chronicles' already in production at Fox, it sounds like the Terminator will be back again and again over the next few years.

- This is going to bomb without Arnold and he will definitely not do it... There is NO logical reasoning only to make some $$$ and to re-invent a good series.. Everything was said and done in T-3.. Its sad to re invent franchises that dont need to. Posted on May 12 2007 05:18
