Clive Owen's 'Back in Town'
The 'Children of Men' star is set to play a grieving dad in Scott Hicks' 'The Boys are Back in Town'.
May 30 2007
Clive Owen has signed up to star in 'The Boys are Back in Town', which turns out to be an Australia-set family drama rather than the Thin Lizzy biopic we were hoping for.
The in-demand actor, who seems to have about 50 films on his slate at the moment, will play a widowed sports writer who becomes the single parent of two boys from different families.
Allan Cubitt has written the script, based on Simon Carr's memoir of the same name, while Scott Hicks will direct, making it the first film he has made in Australia since 'Shine'.
Before then, Owen will be seen in 'Shoot 'Em Up', 'Elizabeth: The Golden Age' and 'Sin City 2'.
