Win tickets to The British Academy Television Awards

Pioneer is the sponsor of The British Academy Television Awards - and to celebrate the company is offering two pairs of tickets to attend the star studded awards ceremony.

Mar 16 2005

Innovator of the world's first high-definition plasma screen, Pioneer is the new headline sponsor of The British Academy Television Awards - and to celebrate the company is offering two pairs of tickets to attend the star studded awards ceremony. The evening will begin with an exclusive champagne reception at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden. Following this, the winners will take their seats at the Theatre Royal to watch the best in television battling it out to pick up the coveted awards.

A new Audience Award will be presented at the ceremony; the Pioneer Award sets out to honour programme-makers whose novel and bold approach has brought both critical praise and commercial success. The Pioneer Award shortlist was decided by a committee of national television critics and the winner will be selected by the public.

The four shows chosen are 'Green Wing' (Channel 4), 'Shameless' (Channel 4), 'This World: One Day of War' (BBC TWO) and 'Who Do You Think You Are?' (BBC TWO). For another chance to win tickets to the ceremony, vote for your favourite show at www.pioneer.co.uk/bafta.

The British Academy Television Awards, sponsored by Pioneer, will be hosted by three-time BAFTA Award winner Graham Norton and will be broadcast on BBC ONE the same evening. The awards will be attended by the nation's favourite television stars on a night that will be an impressive showcase of industry talent and glamour.

The British Academy Television Awards will held on Sunday April 17 2005 at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane.
